Arisaema thunbergii subsp. urashima

(A. urashima var. gigantum Type)

Coastal population of Arisaema thunbergii described by Shimoda, Izu Peninsula. It becomes very large, and the leaves are thick, giving the impression that the meat quality is solid.

However, coastal individuals tend to have this tendency, and because they are continuous traits toward the inland, they are now considered synonyms. We are currently investigating whether it is due to environmental factors or genetic traits.
